So as movie watching adventures come and go I always, always have the intention to write about it here at my blog land, but then I get so distracted by other movies, work or something shiny. Well, here I am and I'm gonna get to rattling on about re-watching two of my favorite movies, meeting awesome film folks and just havin' an all around great time.
On a Sunday night, August 28th, the New Beverly screened a Stuart Gordon double feature; Re-Animator and FROM BEYOND. Actress Barbara Crampton was in attendance along with Stuart Gordon, the SFX team for both flicks and Carolyn Purdy-Gordon. Everyone who showed up had a hand in both movies screening.
Now the announcement of Re-Animator playing at the New Beverly came back earlier in the summer. I had just recently started following actress Barbara Crampton on Twitter and thought I'd let her know with a little @ reply that one of her films was going to be showin' on the big screen. Soon after she actually @ replied me and said she hadn't heard but was then considering attending the show, TBD.
I was a giddy little fangirl getting noticed on Twitter and knew I wouldn't miss this upcoming New Beverly screening! Then FROM BEYOND was added to the line up and it became an even more awesome STUART GORDON, BARBARA CRAMPTON double feature for all to enjoy!
Come Sunday, my Dad picked up my guy Dave and I, and the three of us headed to the theater. There was a nice line outside and a bunch of the regulars alreaday there too. We had a friend already inside from the earlier screening and we got our favorite seats off to the side rows by the aisle. All was going well and while in line for some concession snacks the lovely Barbara Crampton showed up to the theater with her pals, including the awesome actress Kelli Maroney!
Before the film, while there was still a line at concession I decided to go talk to Barbara Crampton and introduce myself! Barbara was absolutely awesome. She said she was hoping to meet me to thanked me for letting her know about the films screening. It was a fun little chit chat and I was elated to hear she actually checked out my blog! (Another reason I got to get back in my bloggin' flow!!)
After my chat with Barbara I ran to my Dad and Dave to share my giddy delight over the conversation I just had! Re-Animator was ready to start soon after that, followed by the trailers for MY OWN PRIVATE IDAHO and THE WOMAN NEXT DOOR.reduce stress
